About ServetheCity
Using Jesus as our inspiration, ServetheCity is dedicated to serving Portugal’s urban population. This is a grass-roots volunteer effort, modeled upon the success of similar ServetheCity projects taking place throughout Europe, including Belgium, Holland, Russia, Ireland, England and Spain.

ServetheCity Lisboa is a facilitator for ongoing service and community safety projects in Lisbon, linking you with others in your freguesia and throughout the city.
By supporting existing organizations, such as Comunidade Vida e Paz, Desafio Jovem, local churches and community centers, we can bring vibrancy to our neighbourhoods and improve the quality of life of all our citizens.
Kickoff Project: From 24-28 July 2007, ServetheCity brought together volunteers from around the world — Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, England and the United States — to work with their Portuguese counterparts in an energized blitz of activities serving the population of Lisbon.

Activities, current and future, will include graffiti and park cleanups, building repairs at a home for children and youth, sports & dance camps, manicures at battered women shelters, home repairs for the elderly, visitation to an AIDS children’s home, the distribution of clothing, food and kindness to the homeless.
